Sam Nadler of Word of Messiah Ministries says that effective prayer moves us to action even as it creates action by God. What he actually said was "if your prayers do not move you to action, why do you think they would move God to action?" And so it is the faith of the one praying that generates the healing, as well as the one needing the healing. As with the four friends who lowered the sick man through the roof, it was the combined faith of all five that moved them to action, and that faith moved Jesus to heal the man.

On this entry, I was trying to compare life as it can be today with what the disiples may have been going through at the death of Christ. Jesus came from death and returned to the disiples and when He did, He said, "peace be with you". To me this shows that Christ is peace. I believe during our hard times in life if we go to Him, He will give us our fill of peace
I hope this helps explain what I was trying to get across.

WE ALL HAVE TO BE READY. ALL THE SIGNS FOR THE END TIMES ARE HERE. NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, IF OUR LIVES ARE ANCHORED ON THE SOLID ROCK,GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF US. THE SIGNS THAT ARE HAPPENING ONLY SHOWS THAT THE BIBLE IS ACCURATE AND THE COMING OF YESHUA THE MESSIAH IS CERTAIN.

You sound a little confused and I don't blame you. Religion is enough to confuse anyone. Perhaps I can help .... maybe not. Understand that religion was not God's idea. It was Satan's. He started it back at The Tower of Babel. You can read about it in Genesis 10 and 11. It was, of course, a pagan religion and it continued on even after Jesus was hanged on the Cross. The followers of Jesus were persecuted until in about 312AD when the emperor Constantine issed his edict of Tolerence and it become OK to worship anyway you wanted. A few years later an emperor named Theodosis decreed that Christianity should be the state religion. Well, all these pagan worshippers came into the Christian Church and brought all their pagan rituals with them.
Of course, these pagan things were all "christianized" and became part of the worship. There's a big long list and I won't go into them now but these pagan rituals still exist in many of the mainline "Christian" religions today. The Reformation came along in the middle ages but it added to the confusion. And that confusion still exists today and ol' Satan is putting on the full ourt press because he knows his time is growing short. Real Christianity is not a religion. It's a relationship with God made available through the Sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ, on The Cross. Becoming a Christian is easy it's also very difficult. It's easy because all you have to do admit that you're a sinner and ask God to forgive you as you surrender your life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. That's easy enough. The difficult part is admitting to yourself that you
need saving .... overcoming pride and self suffiency and yielding yourself to Jesus. And I gotta tell you from experience that's not easy to do. But I've found, after walking with Jesus for 30+ years it's wonderful. Well, I hope that helps lift some of your confusion. So don't bother yourself with religion. Just surrended your life to Jesus. And watch out for the religionists. Now you know where they're coming from. And whatever you do, don't concern yourself with what The World thinks. Amen? mizpah

I heard a pastor refer to himself as merely an "usher." Someone who ushers people into the presence of God....just like the ushers usher you into the performance at the symphony. I like that image much better...more accurately reflects their role and their equality with the rest of the flock.

It may be a problem caused by the "Shepard" metaphor. The shepard guides his flock and protects them from harm, but also shears them and eventually takes them to slaughter. The shepard holds the lives and deaths of his flock in his hands and his will.

People are sheep in many ways; they will find or create and absolute authority figure - but one fallible enough to be manipulated. It must be hard for a pastor to "serve" as opposed to "rule" his congregation when both is own ego and the desire of the flock are working against him.
